".....the skill of their blend and ensemble mesmerized….. exceptional blend and intonation.....performed with clarity and verve..... a first-rate chamber group."
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

"…..handsome, focused sounds and unfailingly subtle technical strengths.
A firm tone draped in soft-edged luxuriance lent superior aural appeal.
High or low, not a harsh, disagreeable note escaped from any of the trio all night.
Their sense of ensemble was nothing short of psychic, but spontaneity was always
in evidence, together with the measure of piquancy that infuses life
into what they perform."

   Collaborative Arts Network (C.A.N.)
Ron Samuels founded the non-profit organization, C.A.N., in 1991 in order to provide a vehicle for realizing innovative concert ideas. Among the group's credits are several programs that celebrate the dual lives of film composers, those who led active careers scoring music for Hollywood movies while also composing contemporary classical music. Through lecture, video projection, and live performance, these educational programs illuminate the work of many of these composers in both veins. Those featured have included Franz Waxman, Mikos Rozsa Bernard Herrmann, Ennio Morricone, Georges Delerue, and Nino Rota. Herrmann's Silent Noon for chamber orchestra received its American premiere as a result of one the programs Ron produced.

C.A.N. has also participated on two recording projects. One, for Opus One Records, featured a chamber ensemble in Brian Bevelander's Letter from Nathaniel Giles; and the other featured a chamber orchestra on Ron's own KOCH International Classics recording of French repertoire.
